An Exciting New Adventure…
Savvy Images is very excited to announce that it is relocating to Anchorage, Alaska!! My fiancé will be taking a position with his company there for a couple years, and we decided that it was the perfect opportunity for an exciting new adventure! Though Austin will always be home for Savvy Images, we will be moving on July 20th. I have thoroughly enjoyed photographing all my fun Texas folks, and will definitely be back in Austin and Houston periodically to visit family/friends, AND to continue taking beautiful photos for all my awesome clients. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you are interested in setting up a session!! I may need a good reason to come back to Texas and thaw out! ;-) Also, if any of you know anyone in Alaska, please pass my information along to them. I am very eager to start making lots of awesome new clients up north!
In honor of our big move and all the coming changes, I am going to start a Travel Tuesday blog post. Each week I will post a photo of exciting places we’ve been, or places that we hope to visit in the future. I am a firm believer that travel broadens one’s mind, and I hope my weekly post inspires each of you to venture out of your comfort zone every once in a while! Near or far… SAFE TRAVELS!!

After attending a newborn workshop in North Carolina yesterday, I’m feeling super inspired (more info and photos to come on that in time). ;-) I’m a little behind on blogging, but with all my catching up there will be lots of beautiful little newbies, bellies, and love birds on the blog soon. A New Year and Exciting News…
With the fresh start of the new year I wanted to take a moment to wish all of the Savvy fans out there a good one! I hope you have the determination to stick with any New Years resolutions you commit to… ALL year long. With all the day to day challenges in life, my hope is to find more balance in 2013. As we all know, there are not enough hours in the days…lol. I certainly enjoy and strive living a fast paced lifestyle, but will be making a huge effort to be more efficient AND effective this year!! Let’s all try to make it our best yet!
With that being said, I have some cool news… Savvy Images now has a YouTube channel!! No, we will not be providing professional video services at this time. It’s just a fun way to share videos, and get to know Savvy Images a little better. We’re currently working on a really cute newborn video from past sessions, and we will even be featuring future session and wedding slide shows. You’ll definitely want to subscribe to the Savvy Images Videos channel, so you don’t miss out on any of the great videos to come! Appropriately enough, the first video we posted is a New Year Eve performance by The Dirty River Boys at Antone’s here in Austin. It’s their spunky spin on the infamous New Years Eve song “Auld Lang Syne”. If you’re in central Texas, and you’ve never seen one of their shows, they are lots of fun and you definitely should. You can check out there tour dates out here, and the video below. Fun live music with fun folks, is such a great way to celebrate the start of a wonderful new year!

With all the fun family Holiday Sessions that will make their debut on Christmas cards all over the land, and sneaky Christmas photo gifts in the works, there hasn’t been much action here on the blog. Good things come to those who wait. ;-) I am beyond grateful to have so many fun, wonderful, thoughtful clients to keep me busy! Your uniqueness keeps me inspired and on my toes… and I absolutely LOVE it. I hope you all have a very blessed Thanksgiving spending time and filling your bellies with those that you love.
DADS ~ Photo Challenge
Once again, one of my favorite forums, Rock the Shot is having a contest. This month the theme is DADS…. the perfect choice just in time for Father’s Day! And I just happened to have the perfect shot to enter! Taken during an incredibly cute family photo shoot this spring, this photo was the fun dad’s ONLY photo request. And what a happy little man! You can just tell how much his little munchkin loves it!

Flower Portrait ~ Photo Challenge
One of my favorite forums, Rock the Shot is having a contest and I thought this photo was perfect for it… It’s a photo contest and the theme this month is Flower Portrait. The image was captured at one of my favorite parks in North Austin. I may be obsessed with all the spring wildflowers we have here in Texas, and this momma and little man duo is just precious!
