Travel Tuesday • OUR Destination Wedding

After some pretty amazing wedding festivities in the Dominican Republic over the past couple weeks, it is SO good to be back at it. As most of you can imagine, I am BEYOND excited to share some of the AMAZING photos that our destination wedding photographer Katelyn James took while we were there!! I cannot even explain just how INCREDIBLE she and Michael (her husband, second shooter & travel companion) were!! I could use so many wonderful words to describe them: Passionate, Talented, Detailed, Flexible, Prompt, Friendly. Those are a handful off the top of my head, but I cannot think of one word that could even express just HOW grateful I am that they did such an incredible job photographing our wedding weekend. I will seriously cherish their photos, and the memories that they captured for the rest of my life! Not only that, I learned lots of great new things from Katelyn that I can apply to my photography, ultimately bettering Savvy Images. It’s a win all around!! There are WAY to many that I love to share them all, but below are some of my favorites so far. If you are a bride or groom to-be reading this blog post, I hope you take at least ONE thing from it… BE SURE to hire a wedding photographer that you absolutely LOVE. You spend ALL day (if not longer with them), so you want to make sure you get along well, and that their work is in line with your expectations. With all the other chaos going on, the last thing you want to do on your big day, is question your photographer! Also, you can’t go back and/or have a do-over if you aren’t happy with your wedding photos for some reason. Planning a destination wedding, from what seems to be like a destination (aka Alaska) was extremely stressful, but having so much trust in Katelyn definitely helped keep my nerves somewhat in check.
